A devastating road accident claimed the lives of four Ukrainian women early Tuesday morning on Austria’s A2 highway near Scheiblingkirchen, approximately 80 kilometers south of Vienna. In addition to the four fatalities, three other women and the minibus driver sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment. The driver and co-driver of the truck were reportedly unharmed.

The tragic crash occurred as the truck was leaving a rest stop, attempting to merge into the right lane of the highway when the minibus slammed into it. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation, with police working to interview survivors and analyze the scene.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the destination or origin of the Ukrainian passengers, and identification of the victims is still underway. The accident led to a temporary closure of the A2 highway, significantly disrupting traffic in the region.
