In a bizarre incident early Wednesday morning, a 26-year-old man from Villach, Austria, caused a scene after allegedly believing he was James Bond while under the influence of cocaine, cannabis, and alcohol. The incident, which took place around 3:15 AM, resulted in property damage, a brief police pursuit, and criminal charges.
Police were alerted by a concerned resident who saw the man exiting his vehicle in visible distress. Within minutes, the situation escalated — the man began destroying garden decorations, smashed a car window with his elbow, and climbed onto a carport roof. Witnesses report that he then stuck his head into a garden well before fleeing the scene.
Officers located the man shortly after in a wooded area near the residence. Despite his previous erratic behavior, he remained calm and openly admitted to having consumed multiple substances. In a surreal twist, he told officers he believed he was James Bond on a mission to save lives.
The man, known to local authorities, was taken into custody and his driver’s license was immediately suspended. He was transported to the Villach Police Detention Center and is now facing charges to be reviewed by the Klagenfurt Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The incident underscores ongoing concerns about drug-related psychosis and its impact on public safety.
