WARSAW – Ministers of labor and social affairs from European Union member states have gathered in Warsaw for an informal two-day meeting focused on the impact of digitalization, labor market integration of disadvantaged groups, and equality in the workplace. The summit, taking place on April 14–15 under the Polish Presidency of the EU Council, is chaired by Poland’s Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Policy, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bak.

According to the official Polish presidency portal, the first day of talks is dedicated to how digital technologies, including automation and artificial intelligence, are reshaping the future of employment. Ministers aim to explore regulatory frameworks that ensure innovation goes hand-in-hand with the protection of workers’ rights.

Active Integration and Social Inclusion in the Spotlight

The second day will shift focus to active integration policies. Key issues include support for individuals at risk of social exclusion, requalification and upskilling programs, and best practices for integrating migrants and the long-term unemployed into the labor force.

A major part of the discussion will also be gender equality and work-life balance. Ministers will exchange strategies to better support individuals with caregiving responsibilities through flexible employment models and expanded access to care services.

Building a Fair and Modern European Labor Market

The Polish Presidency highlights the event’s aim to foster collaboration among EU nations and shape a more inclusive and dynamic European labor market. The outcomes of the Warsaw meeting are expected to influence broader EU policy direction on employment, social cohesion, and digital adaptation.
