Ukrainian Drones Hit Riazan Region
Ukraine’s military announced Saturday that it targeted an oil refinery in Russia’s Riazan region, describing the attack as part of a broader effort to cripple Moscow’s ability to conduct missile and bombing campaigns.
Russia responded with its own version of events. Riazan Governor Pavel Malkov said that Russian air defenses shot down 25 Ukrainian drones overnight. Falling debris, he added, triggered a fire at a nearby industrial facility — but no injuries were reported.
Kyiv has increasingly relied on long-range drones to hit Russia’s wartime infrastructure, a strategy designed to push the conflict deeper into Russian territory and disrupt its military production chain.
