A commercial flight from Africa to Central Europe ended in tragedy on Tuesday evening when a young female passenger died shortly after landing in Prague. Authorities say the death most likely resulted from natural causes, though routine procedures are continuing to formally determine the circumstances.
The incident occurred after a Smartwings flight from Boa Vista in Cape Verde landed at Václav Havel Airport in Prague. The Boeing 737 touched down just before 10 p.m. local time after a flight lasting nearly six hours. While passengers remained on board awaiting assistance services, the woman suffered a sudden medical collapse.
Death occurred before disembarkation
According to police officials, the passenger lost consciousness while waiting for mobility assistance following the aircraft’s arrival. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead on board. Investigators stated there is no indication of foul play.
Authorities have not disclosed the woman’s exact age, referring to her only as a young adult. No further personal details were released in order to respect the privacy of her family.
